This album has been a year in the making, produced and engineered by the talented Michael Carpenter. Between Michael and myself we played all the instruments. The songs are truly a rare window to my soul, a a tapestry of varied moods and styles which are a reflection of my life events over the past few years including the covid period and lockdown.
They express joy, sorrow, grief, pain, heartbreak and betrayal but also love, hope and a song for dog lovers.
Making Memories is about living life now to the fullest. An upbeat, positive song with a summery country vibe.
If I Could is a re-recorded love song with a country latin vibe from previous years, while Things Ain’t Always (What They Seem) is a fitting tribute to a colleague lost to suicide, Glen Hannah.
Kinder (Be The Love) is my plea to humanity to be kinder to everyone.
Diamonds and Dust is a cracker rock ballad of betrayal and I Deserve This the anthem of lockdown fallout declaring everybody needs to be loved.
I Wish carries the scars of betrayed love until the dog lovers song, My White Shadow brightens things up as a dedication to my dog, Gizmo and the unconditional love all dog owners will understand!
Days Like This recalls the joy of my time in Japan during cherry blossom season in 2023 and life looks bright once again.
The album finishes on a high with Position Vacant (P.S. Must Love Dogs). A toe tapping country rock song about my search for a new partner in the modern age and the desired checklist. Of course, must love dogs!
I am still working on completing the YouTube picture lyric video, but hope to have that up next week.
